MAKING THE HEADS

It is time now to make the heads of the barrels.

First of all, the machine planes both sides of the stave to smooth them down.

The process continues on the laser table for the piling up or arrumado, in which the cooper carefully chooses staves to make the head, setting them together one by one according to the circumference marked by the laser beam.

After that, another cooper will insert the pieces in the jointing machine to join them together with headless nails.

For the final cut, the cooper puts the barrel head in the machine that will give it its circular form.
