Tonelería Antonio Páez Lobato was founded in 1946, born from the entrepreneurial spirit and vocation of Don Antonio Páez Lobato, within a family closely linked to the world of wine and the winemaking tradition of the Marco de Jerez (Sherry region).
A year earlier, in 1945, Don Antonio Páez Lobato had founded Bodegas Páez Morilla, a sister company with which our cooperage maintains a close collaboration today.
Since then, Tonelería Antonio Páez Lobato has evolved over nearly eight decades, combining traditional know-how with innovation and a profound knowledge of wood and its relationship with Sherry wines.
Today, our experience and specialisation in Sherry Casks have allowed us to take our barrels to some of the finest brands of whiskies and spirits in the world, exporting thousands of oak casks every year.

SHERRY CASK
The crafting of a masterfully built oak barrel and a perfect seasoning with D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry wines gives rise to an unparalleled vessel: the seasoned Jerez cask or “sherry cask”. These casks are globally in demand due to their extraordinary qualities for the ageing of whiskies and other spirits.
COOPERAGE
More than eight decades of experience in the artisanal manufacturing of sherry casks endorse us. We have over 30,000 square metres of facilities and specialised workshops, where we craft new barrels and repair old casks, using oak wood that is selected and naturally dried for a minimum of 24 months.
VISITOR CENTRE
We have a visitor centre open to the public; a space designed to welcome visitors, host meetings, and conduct tastings. It features a bar area, an exhibition of traditional cooperage tools, as well as a shop offering Páez Morilla products.
OWN WINERY
We have our own cellar (Páez Morilla) for the seasoning service of sherry casks and old casks.
