CUSTOMISED QUALITY
Our clients can choose the type of oak that best suits their needs and, furthermore, personalise the level of toasting they require, according to taste and the intended use of the cask.
OUR WOODS
Oak is our primary wood due to its resistance, durability, and excellent qualities for the maturation and ageing of wines and spirits. Depending on the needs of each client, we offer different types of oak, each with its own characteristics.
American Oak
(Quercus alba)
Characterised by a wider grain and greater aromatic intensity, it provides notes of vanilla, coconut, caramel, and sweet spices, in addition to offering excellent resistance and durability.
European Oak
(Quercus petrea/Quercus robus)
Its elegant contribution of tannins provides delicate aromas of vanilla, spices, nuts, and light toasting, favouring a slow and balanced evolution.
Spanish Oak
(Quercus pyrenaica)
It brings a unique aromatic profile, with spicy notes, nuts, and a subtle sweetness, respecting the identity of the product during maturation.
Chestnut
(Castanea sativa)
It is an alternative to oak highly valued in cooperage for its resistance and for providing a characteristic aromatic profile, with notes of nuts, honey, spices, and light toasting, as well as favouring a faster evolution during maturation.
PEFC Certification
At Tonelería Antonio Páez Lobato, we hold the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certification, which guarantees the traceability of the wood used in our processes and ensures that it comes from sustainably managed forests and other controlled sources. This commitment reflects our dedication to environmental protection, the conservation of forest resources, and transparency throughout our supply chain, offering our clients casks made with responsibly sourced raw materials.
